Oracle’s lifetime support policy – From Launch to Indefinite

It could be one of the most inclusive support policies in today’s software industry. Not only is the policy easy to comprehend, it is also quite similar for its spectrum of product across all versions of release over the entire life. Be it database, middleware or applications, lifetime support policy maintains simplicity and predictability across it life cycle.

From launch date to as long as you choose to use it, Oracle’s support policy covers the entire continuum with three stages. Stage 1 is Premier Support – which is for five years from the date of availability. It includes banquet of services covering security, performance, statutory aspect. IT comes with all the new releases and extends up to first five years

Stage 2 – Extended support, provides additional 3 years of support after the product life has completed 5 years of release. Including Extended support, the life of support stretches to 8 years from the date or release.

Stage 3 – Sustaining Support, when premium and extended supports have expired, users can continue to products indefinitely under sustained support. Sustained support gives ample time to plan your upgrade strategy.
